Around noon today a tornado touched down in Aumsville, about four miles to the west of here in Stayton. No injuries but many homes and businesses destroyed. We did not lose power here but the it did go off just about noon here for one second, then back on.
Tornadoes are not common here at all. In fact I cannot think of another tornado here. We had a hurricane here in 1962.
